The first Slovenian symposium on cancer research took place on October 11, 2024 at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana. The aim of the symposium was to bring together researchers, clinicians and experts in the field of cancer research, exchange knowledge and encourage cooperation. The meeting contributed to improved understanding of cancer. At the meeting, focus was treatment and research on pancreatic cancer (https://www.radiobio.si/program).
Master student Vesna Jurjevič gave short oral presentation, entitled MAGEA3/6 Tumour Antigens Regulate Glycolytic Protein Hexokinase to Enhance Pancreatic Cancer Cell Survival Under Metabolic Stress. Project that was partly performed as part of CutCancer project to develop 3D cancer models to explore molecular vulnerabilities of brain and pancreatic cancers with final goal to identify new treatment targets.
