Discover more about our project
The overarching aim of CutCancer is to improve the scientific excellence and innovation capacity in the field of 3D in vitro cancer research at the National Institute of Biology, Slovenia, through access to state-of-the-art technologies, thereby raising its reputation by twinning with three outstanding research institutions: Swansea University from the United Kingdom, Stockholm University from Sweden, and VU Medical Center Amsterdam from the Netherlands.
Scientific aim 1:
To assess DNA damage and genomic instability, one of the key hallmarks of cancer and thus critical factors in cancer development and progression, caused by exogenous factors including chemicals and nanoparticles.
Scientific aim 2:
To reproduce the dynamic TME and to use novel techniques in spatial biology that allow visualisation of tumour cellular composition as well as cellular and molecular interactions in response to therapeutics and their dosing strategies with regard to their integration in clinical protocols.
Consortium of Excellence
CutCancer consortium of excellence consists of National institute of biology – Slovenia, Stockholms Universitet – Sweden, Stichting VU-VUmc – Netherlands, Swansea University – United Kingdom.
