On the 19. 09. 2025 Barbara Breznik, researcher from National Institute of Biology, Slovenia, gave a close lecture on Modeling the tumor microenvironment and response to treatment of aggressive cancers. She presented advanced tumor models that closely mimic the tumor microenvironment and immune compartment observed in glioblastoma patients, as well as mechanisms of resistance to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. She also discussed the application of ISS in identifying cancer cell niches and cellular communities that leads to therapy resistance, highlighting its major advantages and the challenges involved in characterizing the tumor ecosystem.
Bernarda Majc and other co-workers Anamarija Habič, Pia Žižek, Katrin Galun, Špela Kladnik presented poster »GLIOBANK: A SLOVENIAN TRANSLATIONAL BIOBANK UNVEILING DAB2 AS A PROGNOSTIC MARKER IN GLIOBLASTOMA” that was awarded with second best poster award.
